Judicial Candidate Training

CJE’s board members and political directors regularly vet potential judicial candidates in King, Snohomish and Pierce counties who meet the high standards to serve on the municipal and district court bench. We primarily draw from defense attorneys in private practice, prosecutors and public defenders. We recruit and train them to run as candidates in judicial races.

In the year and a half leading up to the election, we conduct candidate training sessions and workshops to prepare judicial candidates for their campaigns. We educate them on the strict rules governing judicial races and public disclosure requirements for campaign financing.

We also make independent, third-party expenditures in support of select candidates during the election cycle.

Candidate Training for 2018 Elections

CJE’s second training session for municipal and district court judicial candidates for the 2018 election cycle will take place on March 17, 2017. We welcome inquiries from qualified attorneys, public defenders, prosecutors and incumbents interested in attending these sessions. Learn more by clicking here.
