Late Wednesday morning, April 5, 2017, The King County Council chose Matthew York and Jason Poydras to fill the King County Southeast District Court vacancies created by the retirement of Judge Richard Bathum and election Judge Matt Williams to King County Superior Court.
York and Poydras were chosen unanimously by the King County Council Committee as a Whole. They will be formally elected and sworn into office on Monday, April 10.
Matt York is currently serving as a Seattle Assistant City Attorney and Precinct Liaison Attorney-East.
He also serves as a pro tem judge for the City of Issaquah, City of Kent, and City of Kirkland.
Jason Poydras currently works as a Senior Administrative Law Judge at Washington State Office of Administrative Hearings in Seattle.
